<image:title>Bio</image:title>
<image:caption>Kyle Terrence is a Canadian visual artist and filmmaker with an MFA in Intermedia from the University of Alberta. He is an alumnus of multiple artist residencies including Pomorska Arts Residency Poland, Arts Letters & Numbers NY, and the Outellier. His films and artworks have been shown in both exhibitions and film festivals across Canada and internationally. Terrence is a contributing author to the upcoming publication Toxic Media Ecologies, a collaborative effort from the Intermedia Research Studio at the University of Alberta. Whether costumed and crawling through Boreal swamps, lowering himself into a frozen river while sporting action cameras, or undergoing performances of hyper-masculinity, his research practice has settled into the multimodal search for experiences beyond the pale of conventional forms of knowledges. Drawing upon multiple methodologies including film, performance, writing, and narrative, Terrence looks to carve a network of aesthetic and experiential pathways between his varying research outputs. Terrence is committed to exploring the often overlapping themes of climate change, masculinity, and eschatology through the lens of video narrative.</image:caption>
